Our main goal this week was to see all the regular people we visit, which tends to be less-active members and our investigators (new converts). Sister Carpenter has been here for 4.5 months, so she got close to some of the members and people. We didn't have the car most of the week (because elders are bums and use all our miles and then don't give us the car), so we walked everywhere or begged for rides. It worked out enough, though. We got fed a lot too!
Heather is doing really well. She has committed to stop smoking for good on Friday. I am excited for October to come because then she will be married and the next weekend, baptized! She is so ready and has such great desire to have the Holy Ghost. We met with her a lot this week because it's a hard goodbye for her and Carpenter. We are hoping to see the little girls this evening, if we can make it there!
Everything else is going well. Actually, we got transfer calls on Saturday night. The mission president or one of the assistants calls the missionaries who will be changing areas. We had stake conference, which Pres Cleveland happened to be at. He didn't have the opportunity to call us early, but at about 10:10 PM he called. He told Sister Carpenter that she would be leaving and follow-up training a sister who came out in my group. We both guessed something like that.
He asked to talk to me. I was expecting to stay in Terre Haute to be follow-up trained by a different sister. THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENED! He said "Sister Mondragon, I'm going to need you at the chapel at 9:30 AM on Tuesday because you will be training a new missionary this transfer." HOLY CRAP. I died. I finished talking to President. My voice was very good at telling my feelings. Nervous, anxious, scared, excited, pumped, happy, grateful!
It's a whole lot of information and I'm terrified, but I know it will all work out and the Lord knows what he is doing by telling Pres Cleveland I need to train right now. Anyway, so I'll be training. I will get my new companion "baby" tomorrow at 11!!! I hope I do okay.
That's about all for this week, though!
I love you all!
Love, Sister Mondragon <3
P.S. At the fairgrounds, a circus has been running. THEY HAVE ELEPHANTS!!!! We walked down Third (the main highway in the Haute, no sidewalks) to an appointment on Wednesday, just so we could stop to take pictures!!! It's pretty great!!!
