Not much to report this week. We had Zone Conference, which is a bunch of missionaries that come to the same church building to hear inspiring words from President Cleveland and the Assistants. It was pretty good. I've always known obedience is important, but President Cleveland really emphasized it at the conference. Sister Miles and I made an extra effort to be obedient this week. It was cool to see the little miracles we experienced. We have a few potential investigators. Hopefully we can help them progress. That's been our biggest struggle this transfer.
We are still working with Taylor and Xandra and Heather. They are all recent converts, so this time after their baptism is really important because they will either fall away or become really strong, faithful members. We are trying to help them be strong. The adversity they are experiencing in their homes and families is really tough. Our main focus is helping grow their testimonies and create solid habits for the future. As we are helping with these things, I am seeing why we learn the primary kid answers. Like how do we strengthen our testimonies? --> scriptures, prayer, church, etc.. But those really are the most important things. I think we sometimes get comfortable in the effort we are making to grow, but we have to continue to stretch ourselves. Set new goals that are a little harder to reach!
Also, one thing I have really appreciated is the help we get from members. As missionaries, it is really hard to find new investigators. Knocking doors isn't the most effective way to find them. It is much better to have referrals from members. When you invite your friends to meet with the missionaries and then join them in the discussions, the Spirit is so much stronger. They can feel your love for them by offering this wonderful gospel. They can see how it has changed/affected your life positively. If you don't know who to refer to the missionaries, pray for the spirit to know who to invite and how to do it appropriately. Every member a missionary, right? (:
This week we found a few different people. Nona is a woman who is dating a man who used to be a member. She was super kind to us when we knocked on her door. She didn't have much time to talk, but we asked if we could come back and she said yes. She has a strong belief in God and Christ and baptism. We are excited to follow-up with her and learn more about her!
Bonnie is a Jehovah's Witness. She was really nice and wanted us to come back so we could learn together. We have an appointment to do bible study with her on Saturday next week. It will be really interesting! We also met a cute Catholic lady who reminded me of my Grandma Eva. #tears
Anyway, this week will be another good one in the Haute! Until next week!
