It's about time I got a new area. I am serving in Elkhart, Indiana now. If you Google Terre Haute and where I am now, you will see I went from one end of the mission to the other. It was a long day! This week has been insane. Saying goodbye to everyone in Terre Haute was the worst. They've become like family (still not as hard as Brooklin and Lexi though). Our last dinner was with the Worthington's, a fave family! They made it an extra special night with gifts (a "Dragon Lady" tshirt) and a special dessert. Photo attached (: After dinner, we met Jason, our lovely non-member pal for ice cream. It was fun!
Our first night in Elkhart was busy! We went straight to dinner with a cute family! Then met the bishop at the church. It was really nice. They helped us take the luggage we couldn't fit in our car to our apartment. Super cool couple! They have been taking such good care of us! They love having missionaries (especially sisters) because they are empty nesters! It's great to have a mission mom in Elkhart! We are both so excited to be here! Not the same experience as my first week in Terre Haute. It's been a really great first impression! I love it up here! We got snow on Thursday, but it didn't stick. Just enough to make driving annoying.
Sunday was crazy meeting everyone in the ward! They are so excited to have sister missionaries! I don't remember most of them... HA! It's okay. It will come. It's going to be a great transfer! I'm excited to be in such a wonderful area! The Bishop and his wife are soooo amazing! They've been taking really good care of us this week.
With Chrismas this week, I wanted to share a quick message.
Matthew 6:31-34
It talks about how we should seek the kingdom of God first and all the things we need for will be taken care of. This Christmas, put God first and then see how he will bless you for choosing righteousness. I've seen how our obedience and commitment and trust in the Lord can bring blessings we can't imagine. Merry Christmas! I love you all! Have a great week!
Love,
Sister Mondragon
PS Thanks for the 12 days of Christmas, Dusty! It's been fun (:
