Good morning lovely people! How are you? Not much this week but here's a little:
Halloween was good. We weren't allowed to be outside walking around after 6, so we went to the Bishop's house because they decorate like crazy! They give out HUGE chocolate bars too. They're THOSE people.. haha. but funny enough, we were there right when a former investigator we have been trying to get in contact with came to the door with her three kids. I recognized her son first, then her twin daughters. We said hi and then a little bit later talked to her on the corner of the street. She said she has been really sick for a few weeks, but that we should text her to set up another time to come by! What a blessing. After that, we went to this Chinese/Japanese/Mongolian/BBQ buffet with Brother Stander. It was pretty good. I made sister Miles and Elder Howlett eat sushi, which neither of them liked. It's strange, but my body has gotten used to just eating whatever we are given. Usually it's tolerable, but sometimes we get a strange meal that may not have been prepared in the cleanest environment... Oh well. It was pretty fun!
We have been struggling finding new people to teach. I've been in this area for 4 1/2 months, which is really long in mission life. We are seeing some miracles, but I've learned more miracles come when our diligence and obedience is at it's highest. When we decide to use that awkward 30 minutes before dinner to go tracting, we find someone who is ready to hear our message. In Mormon 9:28-29 it talks about important it is to do everything worthily. I agree. I could not be on this mission doing the Lord's work without my daily effort to be worthy. Even when obedience isn't easy, and I mess up, I can always use the infinite atonement of Jesus Christ to overcome those difficulties and return to a better level of worthiness.
I'm so excited for this coming Christmas season. Sister Miles and I have lights in our apartment to bring that warm Christmas feeling! But even more so that the fun lights, I am excited to find more people who are willing to talk about Jesus Christ. It is the season, but he is the reason we even have. it. I've heard mission Christmas' are the best because more people are feeling the Spirit and usually try harder around this time. Sadly, I will be leaving the area two weeks before the actual holiday...
Anyway, This is a whole lot of nothing in this letter, I'm sorry. Just know that I love you all! I am praying for you! Have a great week! <3
