Our miracle for the week is Cathy. She is a woman I met about 5 months ago when I was REALLY GREEN. We haven't been in her area since then. The elders found her and she mentioned she talked to some sisters. They asked if it was either me or Sister Carpenter. She remembered my name for some reason! So they told us all about it and asked if we would visit her. Of course we did! She was so sweet! We talked about the Book of Mormon. She has had one for a long time but has never gotten around to reading it. We taught her how the BoM and the Bible work together and support each other. She loved it! We challenged her again to read the chapter the elders left her with (3 Nephi 11) because she hadn't done it. Sister Miles asked if she could bring her new companion to meet her and talk more about the BoM. She said yes! I love missionary work!
We also met a Jewish woman. She had a lot of questions about God and Jesus Christ. It appears she doesn't have much of an understanding of the relationship between the two and between us and Heavenly Father. We taught her how to pray and how we can receive answers to prayers when we are sincere. You could see the gears starting to turn as we talked about the Plan of Salvation and Jesus Christ's love for us.
It's so cool how my testimony has grown just this last week. Whenever you get the chance, bear testimony. As you do, you are open to grow so much! Also, if you haven't seen the new church video, go check it out! (: (https://www.mormon.org/christmas)
This week I will be transferred to a new area, so Terre Haute is in my rear view! But it's been great! We spent a lot of time saying good-bye to people! It's been great! But I'm excited to go to a new area! (: New adventure! I'll get an address asap! (:
WAIT!! Cool thing. One of our members added me on Facebook and saw that we have a common friend. Cameron-Kambree Wright(Richhart). It's so cool because he was her missionary in California! What a small world!
Anyway, almost Merry Christmas! (:
Love, Sister Mondragon <3
